Roan

Interior Design, Styling & Event Design

Kelly and I had already worked together on some SEO for her wedding planning business in Western North Carolina. She also is a successful real estate agent and house flipper. She had momentum and a track record of building things that worked.

She came to me with an idea she couldn’t shake: a new brand. One that brought together her eye for interiors, her instinct for events, and the editorial sensibility she’d been carrying around in her head for years. She could see it clearly…she just needed to build it.

The thing about starting something new when you’re already established is that the stakes feel higher. You know what good looks like. You know what mediocre feels like. And you’re not interested in launching anything that doesn’t match the standard you’ve already set in every other area of your life.

Kelly wanted to get this right from the start.

The work

We start where every strong brand should: with strategy. Before a single color was chosen or a font was considered, we spent time in the foundation defining who Roan was for, what Kelly wanted to be known for, and how this brand needed to feel the moment someone landed on it.

From there, we moved into Creative Direction and brand identity, building a visual world that felt tailored and magnetic…architectural softness layered with narrative details and an everyday editorial quality that makes you want to lean in. This is the kind of brand that feels effortless but deeply considered.

Andrea Shah came on for copywriting, translating Kelly’s voice and vision into language that matched the sophistication of the design. Rebel & Rise handled web development, and I led brand strategy, creative direction, brand identity, and web design.

The result is a brand that looks like it’s been around for years. It has weight and presence. And there’s room for it to grow into everything Kelly’s already dreaming up next.

“To have your eyes look over everything and dream just as big is invaluable.

We can all have outside perspective, but to have someone who sees what you see (and then pushes it further)… that’s something else entirely.”

Where she is now

Kelly launched Roan with a brand that matched the caliber of work she’d been doing for years in other industries, and for the first time, she had a foundation built specifically for where she was headed.

She went from an idea of untapped potential to a fully realized brand with clear positioning, a website the communicates exactly who she’s for, and the confidence to dream bigger than she originally planned. Her words: “There was so much untapped potential I hadn’t even begun to uncover.”

The brand gave her something she didn’t expect: permission to take up more space, to pitch bigger projects, and to show up as the designer and creative she’d always been.

Your brand has this in it, too.

If you're curious what it would look like to close the gap between where your business is and where your brand is, let's start that conversation.
